This series was created with the idea of maintaining the same setting, composition and perspective, but each painting conveys an unlimited variety of changing colours, tones, feelings and thoughts depending on the time of day, lighting and weather changes.
Similar techniques have been used by artists throughout the history of painting. Under this influence, I created a similar series that allows me to feel the attractiveness of this approach from within.
The painting “Sailboats in the misty dawn” retains the same setting, composition and perspective, but changes in colours and tones immerse us in the nature of the misty dawn. Through color combinations I tried to convey the lightness and mystery of the early morning, when the sun barely appears through the veil of fog.
The artwork was painted in a relaxed manner, harmoniously combining the Impasto technique with transparent light layers conveying the haze and ghostliness of the atmosphere.
This artwork was exhibited in several exhibitions such as:
- “Creative Ties" Collective Exhibition - Morgados da Pedricosa Gallery, Aveiro (Portugal) in July and August, 2023;
- "One step above silence" Collective Exhibition - Gallery of the Municipal Library - Albergaria-a-Velha (Portugal) in May, 2023;
This artwork is painted with high-quality oil paints on canvas using art brushes and palette knives.
This unique painting is original, hand signed front and back by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The artwork is equipped with a wooden frame, in black and silver colours and hanging hardware.

Oxana Shimanchuk, stage name O.Shim, since graduation at Graphic Design and Illustration, works as a designer and at the same time works as an oil painter.
The surrounding landscapes and nature are the main themes for her work. By capturing the color and brightness of the landscape at different times of the day, the artist captures her impressions, transforming sensation into aesthetic expression. In her painting, at times, she escapes the physiological character, allowing the spectator to find more of a psychological character. In contemplating her works, a more confessional aspect is noted, a manifestation of the intimate monologue that reveals her personality.
The tones and combinations chosen by the artist in each work reveal and reflect the spirit of the moment. It should be noted that the artist uses the palette and a set of colours to represent the continuous changes in the outside world – mainly in light.
O.Shim is a member of the Aveiro Arte, Experimental Circle of Plastic Artists of Aveiro.
Her artworks are represented in several national and foreign private collections and galleries.
The artistic career includes regular participation in collective and solo exhibitions.
