Title: THE TOMB OF CHRIST
Acrylic, pen and marker
Artwork created on 30 year old used computer paper with printed computer data on back and side pin feed holes.
This is an original 2016 work of art by me, William Washburn.

"At the death of Jesus the soldiers had beheld the earth wrapped in profound darkness at midday; but at the resurrection they saw the brightness of the angels illuminate the night, and heard the inhabitants of Heaven singing with great joy and triumph: Thou hast vanquished Satan and the powers of darkness! Thou hast swallowed up death in victory! "And I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, Now is come salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ; for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night."
Christ came to earth to vindicate the claims of his Father's law, and his death shows the immutability of that law. But Satan thrusts upon man the fallacy, that the law of God was abolished by the death of Christ, and he thus leads many professed Christians to transgress the Father's commandments, while they assume devotion to his Son. {Spirit of Prophecy, 1878, Volume 3, page 194}

I retired in 1986. As a self-taught artist I started painting in 2003. My spontaneous art is a mind expanding therapy as the mind attempts to find order in chaos. The longer the artwork is viewed the more one sees. I just take a blank sheet of paper, wooden board or canvas and fill it with my energy. I do not plan my art. What ends up on the paper is completely spontaneous. I have sold well over 500 works of art all over the world.
