We went along the Lavadas (channels) that the Portuguese built in the 16th century in order to carry water from the mountains to agricultural areas. We past this village on our way in the mountains. There are now over 1,350 miles of lavadas, most of which serve as walking paths for tourists.

I'm a self-taught watercolorist who moved from Hungary to the UK in 1994  Many of my artworks are in private homes of collectors in the UK, USA, Europe and Australia.  Whether it's the soothing greens of the forest, the re-energising blues of the ocean or the vibrant colours of flowers, I paint scenes of nature that I feel so connected to and which is essential to my existence. In nature I find not only beauty but spiritual freedom, peace and contentment which I aim to convey in my watercolour paintings.
