A STOP sign in a flooded area in Australia got my attention. Some unnatural shapes seem to take over the surrounding nature, leaving me with some kind of anxiety. The same anxiety I feel when I think that we are often busy living our daily life, and we might never stop to feel ourselves in the moment.

Spesso una fotografia può essere l'incipit per un'opera. In questo caso, un segnale di STOP in un'area allagata in Australia mi ha colpito. Tutt'intorno, delle forme innaturali si impossessano della natura circostante. Questo mi provoca ansia. I approached painting a few years ago, responding to a need growing inside me: to let my emotions flow. No boundaries or rules, no goal or preconceived idea.

I paint because thinking is not enough for me, I feel the desire to express myself freely, to create shapes, textures, to combine images taken from the world surrounding me, not following a predetermined project.

I am still surprised at how paintings can take directions I had not planned, how the paintings themselves take me to unexpected grounds.


Ho iniziato a dipingere non molti anni fa per una esigenza nata spontaneamente dentro di me: il bisogno di lasciar fluire le mie sensazioni. Senza vincoli o regole, senza uno scopo in particolare e senza un'idea preesistente.

Dipingo perché non mi basta pensare, sento il desiderio di esprimermi liberamente, di creare forme, materie, associare immagini prese dal mondo che mi circonda senza seguire un progetto precostituito.

Mi stupisco ancora di come, a volte, le tele prendano una direzione che non avevo previsto, di come mi portino in terreni inaspettati.
