Do you want the picture to respond, not to get bored, so that the eye stops on it every time, wanders through the interweaving of lines and shapes, discovers something new? Then the choice will have to be approached more deliberately.
Intent. Sometimes, looking at abstraction, you might think that this is an involuntary combination of shapes and colors. There must be an idea, a meaning behind the dashing lines, which means that the details of the picture are not accidental. Their unconsciously symbolic meaning is revealed to the attentive viewer. The composition, all visual means are subordinated to the artist's idea.
