PLA, Patina, Acrylic - The sculpture is made of PLA (bio-based plastic) and is galvanically coated with copper and then chemically patinated.
When the mother Gaia ordered the sons to castrate Uranus, he and his brothers Krios, Koios and Iapetus held their father captive. Kronos then castrated him with a sickle. It can be interpreted that Hyperion held his father captive in the east and thus became the Titan of the east or the Titan of the eastern sky. Accordingly, Hyperion, Krios, Koios and Iapetus formed the four pillars of the earth. After the defeat in the Titanomachy, he and the majority of the other Titans were banished to Tartarus.
According to another legend, Hyperion was angry that the Titans had only been born later. Therefore, he threw Tartarus into a part of the underworld that was so deep that it was named after Tartarus.
