Hoho Kuo,female,began her artistic education under the guidance of her father, the renowned artist Mr. Guo Yu, from an early age.
She graduated from the Stage Design Department of the Central Academy of Drama and later from the Directing Department of the Beijing Film Academy.
She directed the advertising film Lively City, which was awarded the China International Advertising Film Golden Lion Award. Active in the visual arts industry, she works as an independent director and painter, among other roles, and is currently based in Shanghai,China.
Her artistic style employs a contemporary perspective, excelling in figurative expressionism. Using acrylic as her primary medium, she conveys intense, powerful, and richly emotional expressions.
Born in Anyang, one of China's Eight Ancient Capitals, she has been deeply influenced by traditional culture, which has become an integral part of her upbringing and artistic practice. In her Eastern Aesthetics series, she depicts striking elements such as glazed floral tiles from ancient pagodas, lintels, cliff-carved inscriptions, and the weathered grandeur of ancient cypress trees.
Her training and project experience in film and theater have endowed her with a deeper understanding of spatial composition, light and shadow, and the inner worlds of characters. As a result, she enjoys capturing the vibrant essence of women through a cinematic visual language.
The year 2024 represents a significant turning point in her artistic journey. Driven by an undeniable sense of destiny, she has fully devoted herself to artistic painting. Her work continues to gain recognition through awards and consistent sales in both private and public markets.
