Tatiana Kuranova was born in 1989 in the city of Izobilny, Stavropol Krai. She received her higher education in "Fashion Design" from the St. Petersburg University of Technology and Design.
From an early age, she was interested in drawing and painting, but did not receive formal education in this field. After many years of setting aside her passion, she returned to creativity following a personal crisis in 2022. She explored various mediums, such as acrylic, watercolor, pencils, and oil, before discovering her own technique based on the methods of old masters. This discovery was like a revelation—a technique that allows for achieving a high level of skill with an antique aftertaste and depth.
Her technique shares common features with icon painting—using gesso as a primer, a rigid base such as wood or MDF, and working with tempera, pigments, and oil. The color scheme is achieved not by selecting shades on the palette, but through the optical mixing of thin glazing layers of colors. This technique allows for achieving a variety of shades in the artwork using a minimal number of colors.
In her works, Tatyana explores the deep emotions and feelings that ordinary scenes of human reality can evoke. She strives to reflect the true beauty of simple things.
