Asterios Lamprou was born in 1962 in Thessaloniki.
He studied Fine Arts in New York (1979 Queens College, 1980 NYIT, 1981 Parson's School of Design). He discontinued his studies in 1982 and started over in 1983 in Academia di Belle Arti di Napoli in Italy, from where he graduated in 1987 with honors.
He elaborated his doctoral thesis in Aesthetics at the National University of Athens and was nominated doctor in 1996 with honors.
He has published the following books:

The third book, entitled 10+1 is in press.
He has exhibit his paintings in numerous exhibitions, group and individual.
2012 to present, he maintains a private workshop and showroom in Patras.

He has worked as a film critic in the newspaper Rizospastis, as a Director of Educational Programs, University of Athens and for 26 years now as a Professor of Secondary Education, in Patras, where he lives permanently.
As part of its social action, he has been a member of the Administative Council of the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Patras. In 2013 he was elected member of the Administrative Council A's ELME Achaia. From 2014 until today he is a member of the Secondary Education School Committee of the Municipality of Patras.
He is married and father of three children.
