Can I print pictures on canvas, and sell them as paintings?
No, photos printed on canvas are not paintings. If you classify these works in the painting category, it is a deception, the customer will ask for a refund in 100% of the cases.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLASSIFY YOUR DIGITAL CREATIONS AS PAINTINGS, THEY WILL BE REFUSED!
Examples of works that are regularly refused
- Works created with an appImages created with software and applications that make paintings from photographs are not paintings or photographs: they are digital creations
- Works printed on canvasWorks created with a computer and printed on canvas should be classified as DIGITAL ART. Only works created primarily with paint and brushes should be classified as painting.
- Works created with a computerWorks created primarily with a computer, graphics tablet or application, even if they are retouched photographs or digital collages should be categorized as DIGITAL ART.
- Photograph downloaded from the InternetOnly photographs taken by the artist himself can be classified as photography. Photos taken by another artist, or downloaded from the internet and reworked on the computer or with an application must be classified as DIGITAL ART.
