Santos Turiño is an artist photographer addicted to photography. Self-taught. Nonconformist. These three words have marked his career since he acquired his first reflex camera in the early 80s. The digital age has allowed him to explore and develop his curiosity for the abstract more freely. The proximity of the sea made him discover a growing interest in the reflections of water. He was fascinated by the way moving water creates fascinating distortions, fleeting moments, a surprising universe of changing textures, colors, shapes and lines, and the ability to capture fragments of a reality that does not exist anymore. This attraction to mla reflections led to a project called Caleidolia. It is a project-travel prolonged in time, interminable, due to the unlimited nature of its extension and the variability of the manifestations of the reflection. It is also a project that contains other mini-projects (series).

He tries to reflect in his photographs a search for the exceptional in everyday life. This subject is only possible with observation, curiosity, persistence and the way of processing the information received with the eyes. He also tries to merge photography with painting, and achieve a painterly and dynamic effect when shooting from the camera.

His photographs were developed with basic settings. The image shows what was there at the time. The distortions of his images come from non-digital mechanical agents (movement of the support, the subject or the camera) and optical (light on reflective surfaces).
