Juan Carlos Sánchez de la Nieta Pinillos, nacido en Logroño, La Rioja en 1963. Artista de formación autodidacta. Vinculado al deporte desde muy joven y en 2011 encuentra tiempo para dedicarlo a la escultura. Con sus obras busca diferenciarse del resto de artistas con un estilo propio, minimalista, sencillo, limpio, directo, explícito, diferente, utilizando el menor material posible. Por ello, en algunas ocasiones se encuentra con obstáculos insalvables, bocetos imposibles de realizar en la línea que se ha marcado. Se inspira en los momentos de actualidad que vive esta sociedad, plasmando en sus trabajos el cambio climático, el desempleo, la política, el deporte, la drogadicción, la violencia machista, la familia, la incertidumbre, el miedo, la alegría. En sus creaciones incide en detalles en los que nos identificamos, que nos hace reflexionar, recordar momentos vividos, gestos que consigan arrancar una sonrisa en la persona que visualiza la escultura.
Para sus obras utiliza varilla calibrada de hierro o acero inoxidable de diferentes grosores y alambre, con terminaciones a hierro visto, al óxido o pintadas de color y unas bases de madera, piedra natural, hormigón o hierro. Vive lo que hace y disfruta mucho mientras lo hace.
