Phraseologism, which, by the way, has nothing to do with sports, was introduced into literature by Homer. And it owes its origin to the ancient Greeks, who settled their gods on Mount Olympus. And there these gods had a really peaceful life and ruled the world.
In a series of my works, I depicted not gods, but ordinary people, contemplating whom I saw manifestations of solemn indifference, restraint, presence of spirit... Perhaps I wanted to compare this state with the majestic imperturbability of the gods of Olympus. Sometimes we also manage to keep the "Olympic calm", but there are people who have endurance, coolness, presence of mind at all times.
