This painting is based upon the story of the Trojan Horse. In the story the Achaeans gifted the horse to their enemy and when they slept, attacked them. Here, in place of the horse, the Achaean soldiers are exiting the space shuttle.
from wikipedia: the Greeks constructed a huge wooden horse at the behest of Odysseus, and hid a select force of men inside, including Odysseus himself. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night, the Greek force crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of darkness. The Greeks entered and destroyed the city, ending the war.

Metaphorically, a "Trojan horse" has come to mean any trick or stratagem that causes a target to invite a foe into a securely protected bastion or place. A malicious computer program that tricks users into willingly running it is also called a "Trojan horse" or simply a "Trojan".

I was interested in linking NASA with the Trojan Horse legend, as the description says; the 'target' invites the foe into a secure bastion.
If this bastion is the mind then the enemy is a deceiver. NASA is a trick employed against people. Further the cartoon character (augmented fiction/ the unreal) here is 'Mickey Marx' a depiction of 'cultural Marxism'. This obscures the 'storyline' of the painting, ie the soldiers coming out of the Trojan Horse.

I use recurring themes based upon my own perceptions of the world we live in. Realism can feature in my work sometimes but I'm generally driven by abstraction. The process has to be enjoyable, quick and not labored. Creative play forms a large part of the artwork. I was influenced by Picasso's 'unlearning' process of imitating childlike drawing. This was reflected in the theme of the work also, unlearning the falsehood that exists in the world.

My theme is generally focused on 'trust' and 'deception'.  Process wise I like to have contrasts juxtaposed in the piece. I´d make a stencil, and push some acrylic through it instead of spraying. Then I'd paint over them so that they became partially defaced and lost in the painting. This was to recreate a visual way of showing how things are hidden. Again in the world there are things obscured within events. These events draw our attention but the surface of them hides something deeper.
