My contact with the artistic world began when I was very young, studying both in private academies and in the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts of Tàrrega. Although professionally I work in telecommunications, I have never stopped working with wood, clay and assemblage, moved by my need for artistic expression, as a balance to my professional work.
Working with clay and wood represents for me to open a parenthesis to everyday life and focus on a journey where the path is what I enjoy, without knowing what it is or where the final goal is. During this journey everything is neutral, there is no good or bad, and that is why I can experiment with different techniques and materials.
The organic shapes I give to my works are the way, and the material can be either ceramic paste or wood. What I seek is to convey the feeling of smooth and continuous movement, as if everything was formed by a single line without end.
The other side, the transformation of objects, is more impulsive than thoughtful and arises from a concept or from the imperious need to do what comes to your mind and there is no way to stop it. Since I was young I have been accompanied by this restlessness that leads me to dismantle all kinds of objects to understand how they work.
From this transformation arose a type of sculpture that I call "Interpretations" which are characterized by being created from the elements that make up a particular machine. Once disassembled, I put the pieces back together again with purely aesthetic criteria. The "Interpretations" keep the parts unaltered, and join them with the original elements in order to guarantee the memory and the integrity of each part used.
The evolution that has come out of the "Interpretations" is the assembly of usual recycled elements such as butane bottles, golf clubs, old lamps and others, to build semi-realistic sculptures, with a surprising result that becomes a whole other look at the object. In the end, a new "Interpretation" of reality.
At the moment I am focused on sculptures where the materials of creation are new, that have not been used, which represents a big change in my path. I join them with welding creating thread sculptures, as if drawing the limit of the essential, only the essential.
