Une question prédominante obsède ses travaux :
Pourquoi ne changeons - nous pas notre façon d’agir, de consommer, de vivre alors que les causes des dérèglements en cours, et surtout leurs conséquences néfastes, font consensus dans le monde scientifique ?
Aujourd’hui, plus de 37% de la population estime soit que le dérèglement climatique n’est pas lié à l’activité humaine, soit qu’il n’existe simplement pas.
Peur, posture idéologique ou économique, manipulations, égoïsme... nombreuses sont les raisons, conscientes ou non, qui peuvent nous amener à adopter une forme de scepticisme vis à vis de ces réalités.
A travers cette série, Hu/Lie porte d’abord un regard critique sur ses propres pratiques et sur la part de déni qui s’est installée en lui, comme en chacun d’entre nous.
Hu/Lie s’inspire des multiples techniques du déni utilisées par les climatosceptiques, dont le “Cherry picking”, pour créer des œuvres où la dualité de nos pensées intérieures surgit par contrastes de couleurs, de formes et de matières.
