Elena Bezhenova, born in the Caucasus, has always been deeply influenced by her surroundings, sparking her fascination with the study and observation of nature. Particularly drawn to entomology, she has built a personal collection of insects, reflecting her keen interest in the natural world.
Bezhenova pursued her artistic education at the Moscow Academy of Fine Arts, where she delved into the intricacies of painting techniques, with a focus on early Renaissance Dutch and German painters.
