Drawing in ballpoint pen, with the addition of coffee in the form of a wash and highlights in acrylic. This work, produced on paper, is part of the "Imaginary Architectures" series and the "TOUR de BABEL" sub-series. This is the first of this sub-series. Produced several years ago, it was not initially intended to be produced in series.
Then recently came to me the desire to take up this theme again, in the momentum several variations have emerged, constituting this series.
Stylistically the series "Imaginary Architectures" as well as the sub-series "The Tower of Babel" are vaguely inspired by the etchings of the engraver Piranesi, entitled "Le carceri d'invenzione", "The imaginary prisons".

Claude Duvauchelle is a contemporary French artist. For the past two decades, he has been fascinated by the human body. It is an endless source of inspiration for him, allowing him to express the emotions, anxieties, and hopes of modern man. He attempts to depict the problems and alienation caused by modern civilization's violence. Duvauchelle represents a humanity turned to its original bestiality, slave to its most destructive inclinations, constantly changing the techniques and content to avoid redundancy.
Claude Duvauchelle was born in 1953, in France. His works were shown in solo and group exhibitions all over France.
