Born to an artistic family in Slutsk in 1993, Yuliya Kachur started her creative journey in 2019 at the age of 26. One day, Yuliya’s mother, also an artist, brought her a canvas and paints, and asked her to paint. It was how the first painting titled The Very Moment appeared in 2019. Yuliya started to devote all her spare time to painting, taking lessons and art advice from her mother, and inspiration from art books and art exhibitions. Yuliya quit her job in logistics to be able to develop as an artist. Two years later she opened her first personal exhibition in a local art space in Minsk. A small exhibition was a huge push to her, as she got positive feedback from the audience and thus first claimed herself an artist. Half a year later, as a result of productive work she presented her second personal exhibition. Besides paintings, there were art objects there. In her art objects she addressed gender issues. The interest in art objects as a medium appeared after she joined the local community of contemporary artists Depth. In the course of the past year Yuliya participated in 8 group exhibitions held in the lead national galleries in Belarus. Yuliya Kachur continues to develop her artistic approaches working with installations as she combines painting with objects.
