Il progetto è una tassonomia fotografica a lungo termine fatta con uno scanner, apparecchiatura installata in spazi pubblici nei qualle Aparicio ha invitato alcuni passanti a farsi scansionare la zona del petto, quella del cuore che batte, dove è scandito il tempo del corpo. L’abbigliamento è un elemento significativo nella costruzione dell’identità. I confronti tipologici stabiliscono narrazioni a partire dalla forza della somiglianza rafforzata dalle particolarità delle differenze. Sono state evidenziate variabili come la professione, il mestiere o il genere, mettendo a fuoco l’unicità dell’individuo.
Nella parte centrale del corpo, l’ombelico ricorda il processo di gestazione della vita. 40 ombelichi fanno parte dell’archivio, ma questo ampliamento della ricerca ha continuato a crescere. L’analisi corporea dell’artista, infatti, si è approcciata alla scansione dell’intero corpo.

The project is a long-term photographic taxonomy made with a scanner, a device installed in public spaces where Aparicio invited some passers-by to have their chest area, that of the beating heart, where the time of the body is marked. Clothing is an important element in the construction of identity. Comparisons of Typology build narratives on the power of similarity, reinforced by the specificity of difference. Variables such as occupation, industry, or gender are emphasized, focusing on the uniqueness of the individua.
The belly button is located in the center of the body and is reminiscent of the gestation process of life. Forty navels are part of the archive, but the research continues. In fact, the artist's analysis of the body has come close to scanning the entire body.

Born in Bucaramanga, Colombia, in 1985, William Fernando Aparicio is a Colombian artist and photographer whose artistic journey is as captivating as it is varied. In 2008, he obtained his degree in Visual Arts from the National University of Colombia, marking the start of a promising artistic career.
Two years later, in 2010, William obtained his specialist diploma in photography, demonstrating his passion and commitment to the world of images. His desire for further development led him to obtain his Master's degree in Fine and Visual Arts at the same university in 2017. This in-depth training strengthened his expertise in photography and allowed him to refine his artistic vision.
For eight consecutive years, William shared his knowledge and love for images as a professor of digital image, photography and art at various universities in Bogotá. His teaching influenced many generations of budding artists and photographers.
William Fernando Aparicio's work has been exhibited individually six times in Colombia and Spain, revealing his ability to create unique and captivating artistic projects. In addition, he has participated in more than 40 group exhibitions, demonstrating his active participation and notable presence in the world of contemporary art.
Among his many achievements, William has received well-deserved academic and professional distinctions, including the title of “Winner of the 8th Young Art Fair” at the Club el Nogal in Bogotá in 2015.
In his creative projects, William Fernando Aparicio explores the countless possibilities offered by the photographic device. He questions the impact of the overproduction of images in our digital age, seeking to express the digitalization of the human experience through his art. His work focuses on portraiture, where he seeks to uncover and tell unique stories on city streets. He also explores the foundations of photography by building homemade darkrooms in his quest to understand the image.
In 2019, William began a new chapter in his artistic life by moving to Milan, where he continues to create and express himself through his photographic art. His work is a reflection on the complexity of the image in our modern world, and his influence continues to expand as he explores new artistic frontiers.
