Born in 1958 in Nuremberg (so it is no coincidence that Dürer influenced me)
after training as a stonemason and stone sculptor in Nuremberg
Follow-up qualification, specializing in design in Nuremberg (with Scholarship from the Sigmund Schuckert Foundation).
2 semester studies at the Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences, specializing in communication design, then
Studying fine art / painting at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences / Alte Werkkunstschule
He has been working as a freelance artist since 1991.
From May 1998 to July 15, 2021 (the Eifel flood) owner (and founder) of the art forum "Artfusion" (Studio, producers' gallery and free academy for realistic painting) in Euskirchen (near Cologne): Studio and around 700 works (drawings and paintings) were destroyed by the contaminated water masses.
First solo exhibition in 1982 in Darmstadt, exhibitions since then in Germany.
From around 1990 I preferred exhibitions in the alternative art scene in Cologne, later in Euskirchen (my permanent exhibition from 1998 to 2021 in my studio/producer's gallery). Unfortunately, almost all press documents from the "Flood" from July 2021.
Works are in private ownership worldwide.
The temporary neo-naturalistic egoism of Walter Roos is the examination of the temporal, the natural appearance of humans, especially the of the woman!
Nudes have been the content of his studies and works since he was 16 - born as a draftsman, he draws and draws and draws...
The “Nonfinito” or “Yohaku no bi” (Japanese) is a hallmark of his “style”.
For several years I have loved drawing on gray or brownish cardboard (Strathmore)! The structure of the cardboard suits my drawing technique very well and the appearance of the surface is a pleasant contrast to my style. A massive application of ink (I don't use ink!) is also possible.
