A dance in the style of the Russian Avant-Garde (2010) Photography by Viktor Rybas (Victor Ribas)
"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

I believe that when working with photography as an art form, it is important not to compete with other photographers in terms of technical quality or shooting skills, but to use my own aesthetic. Now I confidently consider that I have created a modern artistic language based on scientific technologies and my personal creative experience. The rejection of literal representation in favor of abstract hints at form clearly reveals the inner content of the object, such as the spirituality and emotional state of a person.
Back in the early 1990s, when I first encountered a laser light source similar to the one described in Alexander Belyaev’s science fiction novel “The Hyperboloid of Engineer Garin,” I tried to use it as a light source for creating photographs. The first results were very strange because any object in the photo appeared striped, as if on a TV screen with faulty scanning. But at the same time, the volume of the object was revealed! Several years of experiments led me to completely abandon the need to strive for naturalistic images. I noticed what looked beautiful and what did not, and allowed myself to take the risk and follow my research interest step by step, which eventually formed my method of scanning objects with laser beams. Kandinsky and Malevich also rejected realistic depiction of the world, making the viewer see only hints of reality and complete the full image in their own mind.
Just as Malevich used simple geometric shapes and suprematist colors to express pure ideas, I explore the surface of the object to reveal the essence of a person or thing, to learn about them what is beyond the obvious. I want to create a space for spiritual and emotional perception, which honestly follows the ideology of the avant-garde. The light pattern labyrinths I create require the viewer’s active participation in their interpretation. By exploring familiar things or ordinary people, one can find much beauty and previously undiscovered qualities. /Victor Ribas
