Kalmykov Viktor Georgievich was born in 1958 in Moscow. He started painting in 1979. From 1988 to 1992, five personal exhibitions of the artist took place.

Viktor Kalmykov occupies a prominent place in the Painting of the 80-90s. He belongs to those lone artists who, having challenged the official art, various fashion trends, boldly entered the battle in defense of their beliefs.

Rejecting official academicism, he creates his own style based on the development of personal perception of reality. At the same time, he does not want to impose it on others, believing that every artist is obliged to develop his own view of the world at the cost of intense selfless knowledge of nature. The destructive processes of the 20th century are replaced by creative processes that give rise to the Renaissance. Cognition of Truth through Beauty and Harmony, a look at a person as a bearer of higher spiritual forces - this is the basis on which Viktor Kalmykov's painting develops. The artist is full of creative powers and ideas, and he sees his ultimate task in the preparation of a new Renaissance, in the development of humanistic ideas of the 19th century.
