The Canadian storyteller's painting is a powerful visual expression of the balance between opposites that exist in every person's life.
Molev, as an artist, uses this plot to explore the theme of human existence and inner world. The tightrope walker, balancing on the edge, symbolizes the life path of each of us, where every step can lead to a fall or to the achievement of a goal. ("A little to the right, the tilt will fall! It will disappear!..." V. Vysotsky) Tall towers, between which a rope is stretched, represent two extremes of the path of life, between which we must find balance.
The Gothic metropolis under the tightrope walker symbolizes the complexity and diversity of the world in which we live. It can also be interpreted as the inner world of a person, full of secrets and hidden corners. Each tower and each corner of the metropolis can symbolize different aspects of personality, emotions, fears and dreams.
Balancing between sin and holiness, tightrope walker Moleva reminds us of the fine line between right and wrong, between what we consider sacred and what we consider unacceptable. The simplicity and complexity of his path reflect our own lives, where we are constantly faced with the choice between simple solutions and complex problems.
Overall, Moleva's "Rope Walker" is a metaphor for life's journey, full of trials and difficulties, which requires courage, focus and wisdom from us in order not to fall and continue to move forward. This work of art invites the viewer to reflection and self-discovery, offering a unique perspective on the eternal questions of human existence.

Victor Molev is a contemporary award-winning Canadian artist. He is working in the styles of Decorative Realism, Fantasy, Symbolism and Surrealism. In the mid-1970s, as an aspiring young artist, he took drawing and painting lessons under the apprenticeship of Moscow sculptor Tatyana Vishnyakova. But it wasn’t until his early twenties that Molev became familiar with the works of Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Rene Magritte, M.C. Escher and Frank Frazetta through books and magazines. Molev was incredibly inspired by these artists which became like mentors to him.
After receiving an education in architecture, the artist worked in the field for ten years. He then worked as a set designer at the Pushkin Opera and Ballet Theater. Both of these jobs are still reflected in the creative processes of the artist. He has created his own unique and intuitive world of dreams and absurdity. His works are sincerely naive and kind.
Victor Molev was born in 1955, in Gorky, Russia. His works were exhibited all over the world, including the Art Museum of Saint-Frajou, France. Molev has also participated in numerous international competitions of humorous drawing, and won numerous silver and bronze medals.
