Prométhée singulier (1992) Sculpture by Valtat Alain

Alain Valtat is interested has the image, has the color and has construction in all his forms as of the 16 years age, time of his first self-educated approach of the sculpture, with the detriment of studies of electromechanics... To earn its living, it will exert initially various trades. At 17 years, it starts to work like apprentice at one press photographer. Become International reporter, it crosses violences of the world (the Near East, Africa or Czechoslovakia). Stopped in Prague by the political police force, it is released thanks to the intervention of the French Government and its fellow-members. In parallel while working for agencies, it makes 3 films medium-length film, written in "Combat", then in "the Daily newspaper of Paris". In 1974, wearied to see such an amount of brutality for ideas, it leaves the trade. While creating for the edition, it installs a workshop of serigraphy. Then, after having begun again painting and the peinture/sculpture (access of a true sculptural relief in painting according to the critic Francis Relative), it decides to be devoted exclusively to the sculpture (put side in 1965). Concerned of the questions of balance, construction and memory, it is interested particularly in the vocation of the contemporary sculpture in our company. Vis-a-vis the conceptual and virtual beachcomber, it pleads so that the monumental sculpture left its role of alibi and finds the place which is his within the cities: to contribute to the harmonious development of the city, the memory and the "beauty", because says it, "also far one can go up, where it Quoted there, there was art of the City". Today, its sculptures are present in various collections deprived in France and abroad.
