Gusev Yuri Viktorovich is a contemporary Russian painter. His paintings are distinguished by a rich impressionistic palette. The artist preferred the traditions of French and Russian Impressionists: Sisley, Monet, Korovin, Gerasimov with their full-scale sketch work and love for painting series made from one place in different states of nature and at different times of the day. His favorite time of the year was early spring, when there is no greenery yet, and the air is clean and filled with warmth. The priority for the artist was the color and pasty texture of the painting layer, when the brushstroke turns into a living color on the canvas, and the work itself becomes a window into the world, through the frame of which the viewer sees a landscape saturated with light and vibrating air.

Gusev Yuri Viktorovich was born in 1928, in Moscow, Russia, where he graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. He is a Member of the Moscow Union of Artists and Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. His works are in Russian museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
