Ulrike Lucas is a contemporary painter. Her paintings show on the one hand the beauty of nature or deal with socio-political issues. They are mostly a composition of realistic and invented scenes. The intensity of color characterizes all her works. Especially in landscape paintings, the depth effect and light effects are important to her. She works on the one hand with acrylic and mixed techniques, and for thematic paintings often with egg tempera paints. As substrates she uses canvas, paper and wood. Increasingly, she also works with additional light. Since the age of 12, she was trained artistically by former university lecturers. From 1987 to 1989 she studied painting at the University of Fine Arts in Dresden and was then a decade member of the artists' association "School of Seeing and Designing" of Prof. Gerhard Stengel. In these early years, she mainly participated in collective exhibitions in Dresden and Ahrenshoop (Germany). Since 2019, she has also had solo exhibitions in the Frankfurt area and northern Germany. She regularly participates in international art competitions.
