Elke Hensel - Freelance artist
I was born in East-Germany. As I can remember, I had a special relationship to nature, which I would describe today as my own form of religion. As a child I had the ambition to paint exactly what I see. Maybe the images of Rembrandt animated me. During my school time, I draw my sketches on everything that I could sea, mostly portraits.
My greatest desire was to create Artworks and be an Artist. I could not get after I finished school, because of political reasons. But all of my freetime I drawing and discovered the ceramic for me. Within this time, my desire, to express myself in form of art. I also got some skills with the pottery wheel by learning from a experienced potter.
In 2004, I finally dared to try becoming self-employed and independent. In the same year I started a therapeutic art education and in 2005 an education by Prof. Heinz Deuser to work with clay.
Since 2010, after completed education, I can now turn to the work with art with new power again. Since the summer in 2010 I discovered a new kind of acrylic painting, which allows me to give my enthusiasm for the beauty a colored expression.
It is an overwhelming pleasure for me to show you the way I feel about art.
