Tommaso Pensa is a contemporary award-winning Italian artist. He defines himself as mostly a figurative artist, with hands as his favorite subject. For Pensa, the hands are a reflection of a person's experiences and a symbol of life because they are the only bodily component that is truthful. He also paints feminine figures, and his use of light and shadow results in compositions that are captivating, atmospheric, and emotional.
Tommaso Pensa was born in 1970, in Rome, Italy. His works are in private collections all over the world. Some of his works were exhibited at the MACRO Testaccio Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, MACRO Testaccio - La Pelanda, and at the Mastroianni Civic Museum in Marino. Some works are present in the collection of the Luigi Magni and Lucia Mirisola Museum Foundation. One of his works was purchased and donated by the buyer to Michelle Obama and is now part of the White House collection.
