Grand fan de Star Wars depuis l’âge de 7 ans, Tarek a eu envie de décliner certains personnages emblématiques de cet univers avec sa vision et sa manière de peindre. Cette série a connu un grand succès dès la présentation de la première toile à la galerie Philippe Gelot. En 2014, il a eu la chance de rencontrer Dave Prowse, l'acteur qui jouait Darth Vader, au Montréal Comiccon grâce à Haïfa Adam son agent artistique : Vincent Pompetti et lui avaient offert leur bande dessinée "Le Malouin" avec une belle dédicace. Il était fort avenant et Tarek a eu par la suite une correspondance épistolaire. C’était un de ses lecteurs ! C’est l’une des raisons qui l’a poussé à créer cette série Star Wars en peinture. Enfin, il lui avait même proposé de l'aider à faire la promotion de sa bande dessinée "la Guerre des Gaules" publiée en anglais chez Black Panel Press, son éditeur canadien.

Tarek Ben Yakhlef is a multidisciplinary award-winning French artist. He came from the graffiti world, and at the age of 20, he published "Paris Tonkar," Europe's first art book dedicated to graffiti. His first paintings were shown a year later, in 1992, at the Paris Graffiti exhibition.

For more than 20 years, the artist has worked in several mediums, from painting to comics, photography, video and even Arabic calligraphy. Tarek Ben Yakhlef was born in 1971, in France. His paintings have been exhibited worldwide, in France, Belgium, Canada, USA, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Greece, Cameroon etc. He even created his own magazine dedicated to urban art: Paris Tonkar Magazine. Throughout his long career, this artist has earned numerous awards for both his painting and comic art.
