Javier Alonso Labrador is an artist photographer born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1965. Graduated in Chemical Sciences from the University of La Laguna in 1993, he also obtained a degree in Artistic Photography from the "Fernando Estévez" School of Arts in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1995. He currently works as a photography teacher at the "Pancho Lasso" School of Arts in Arrecife de Lanzarote, where he teaches in the higher education cycles in Artistic Photography, Advertising Graphics and Illustration . He has resided in Lanzarote since 1999.

Over the years, Javier Alonso Labrador has participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions. Among his most important individual exhibitions, we can cite "Pincel de Espuma" at the COAC de S/C de Tenerife, selected for the III International Biennial Fotonoviembre in 1995, as well as "Pinceles del Aire" at the Ermita de San Antonio de Tías, Lanzarote in 2003 and "La soledad del páramo", a short film screening at the Sala de Cine Buñuel in El Almacén, Arrecife of Lanzarote in 2005. His work has also been presented in numerous group exhibitions, notably at the Sala de Arte "La Recova", Centro de Fotografía "Isla de Tenerife", CajaCanarias, Paço dos Duques in Guimaraes, Centro Insular de Cultura in Gran Canaria, and many more.

His artistic approach focuses on a search for volume and relief from his photographs, and he uses resin to sculpt and model his works. His work is imbued with a poetic sensibility where he plays with light, colors and movement to reveal the moment captured. Since 2015, he has shared his artistic universe with the public through his exhibitions and his continuous experimentation with photographic techniques.
