Samiksha Gupta is a contemporary Indian artist and portrait painter.  Samiksha's paintings reflect the influences of 19th Century Realism. She is part of a new movement of artists across the world working in classical painting methods and practices, while staying true to a contemporary aesthetic. Using the alla prima (wet-into-wet) technique promoted by these movements, her work pays tribute to the brushwork finesse of such artists as John Singer Sargent, Sorolla, Anders Zorn, and other modern classical painters.
