I was born and raised in Grimsås Tranemo municipality, After I retired as an accountant in 2019, I moved to Helsingborg where I now have my studio. In my youth I loved to draw and paint. But after turning 18, I stopped completely and it was something that gnawed at me throughout the years, I didn’t take up painting until I started taking evening classes with the artist Carl-Henrik Bogren between 2002 and 2008 but then life came in between again but after a course in portrait painting in 2017, I finally started painting again.
And now after my retirement painting is my main occupation.
I now work mostly in commissioned portrait painting and passionately strive to create realistic and vibrant paintings that only come from constantly improving my craft through continuous training and study.
My ambition for the future is to not only paint portraits but to test new objects and have started with my painting "Swimming in Öresund" which you can see in my portfolio to eventually collect "good enough" paintings that I can exhibit.
I use a traditional oil painting technique that capture the feeling of joy in the oil painting process when I see a face emerge on the canvas.
One of the artists that has inspired me the most is Anders Zorn and I like to use the limited palette of only 4 colors that Zorn is said to have used.
If you have an image that you would like to turn into a piece of art, send me a message, I will be happy to explore the possibilities of creating something that I know you would really appreciate.
