Inspiracją do tego obrazu był, obraz Édouarda Manet, Śniadanie na trawie, z 1863 roku. Płótno przedstawia dwie kobiety i dwóch mężczyzn na łonie natury. Pośród przedstawionych osób możemy rozpoznać brata malarza Gustave’a Maneta i przyszłego szwagra artysty – Ferdinanda Leenhoffa, a także przedstawioną nago Victorine Meurent, ulubioną modelkę Maneta, oraz Suzanne – jego przyszłą żonę. Jest to swego rodzaju malarski cover, przefiltrowany przez wrażliwość artystki.
Ludzie zostali zastąpieni psimi towarzyszami w parku.
