Ikebana, also known as kado, is the traditional Japanese art of floral design. Ikebana uses line, color, mass, form, movement, space, form, balance, and the rich tradition of Japanese culture, religion, and symbolism to capture the ideal imperfections of nature and human emotion in floral design.
Unlike Western habits of randomly placing flowers in a vase, ikebana seeks to bring out the inner qualities of flowers and other living materials and express emotions. By considering color, line, form and function, ikebana creates works of art that resemble sculpture.
Ikebana can be practiced by both amateurs and professionals, both of whom are capable of achieving elegant results. However, like many other art forms, mastering the basics is fundamental to any practice and only then can one begin to experiment.
Ikebana is an art that requires precision, a core principle of Japanese culture. Beginners are taught basic technical skills—how to properly trim branches and flowers, how to measure angles in space for proper placement of branches and stems, and how to preserve living materials—along with the etiquette of maintaining a clean work area.

And so, I paint myself on the canvas of life, adding new touches, correcting mistakes, looking for harmony. Self-portrait is an eternal process and I am an artist who will never finish my painting.
