Observing how blues work with each other.

A colour study of lines, favouring a bright palette that reflects the artists’s personal relationship with colour.

The small works and large works that look similar, inform each other back and fourth, neither is more important than the other, they are all explorations.

The artist painted for a few hours every day for several months, layering numerous canvases with acrylic paint. This series focused on unconsciously creating, by working on multiple works simultaneously.

Simon Findlay works on his personal relationship with colour through exhaustive durational visual expression.

As part of his process based artistic practice, some of the performances he has done include; throwing rocks in a snow storm whilst wearing only short shorts, using only blue for a year, exploring different tools such as brooms and long bendy sticks to extend the paint brush, ripping apart and restalping canvases, throwing paint inside a transparent cube with accompanying musicians, and “Standing On Top A Washing Machine To Throw Wine Bottles Of Paint At The Ground.”

He is based in Berlin, Germany since 2016. Prior to this he was in Melbourne, Australia.
