My name is Silvia Raquel Tavieres, I was born on 10/3/69, I live in Azul, a small city in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. From a very young age I have been fascinated by drawing, so after finishing my compulsory studies, at the age of 18 I decided to enter the Luciano Fortabat National School of Fine Arts in my city in 1989 where I received my National Drawing Teacher (1991) and National Professor of Painting (1999). In 1993 I entered teaching. In 1995 I won a first mention with a painting at the Azul National Art Salon. For me it was a good experience, however it was also bad since my teachers also presented paintings in that room, but they were not awarded a prize, and that circumstance generated bad experiences for me, which is why I decided to retire from the artistic environment since it was not pleasant for me. , having my teachers against me, for having won an award. I dedicated myself for 30 years to my family (I got married in 1996 and have three children), and to teaching, a job that I loved and enjoyed. I was a teacher in more than 30 schools (almost all peripheral and with social problems) I also taught at the School within the Azul Prison Unit. But I never stopped drawing because it's my way of life, however, I never had enough time to develop a big production, but I did have enough time to enjoy and keep that little space for myself. On June 30, 2022 I retired and since that day I have been drawing and painting, I made current works and I also intervened works that I had produced in the 90s. Both the current works and the intervened ones are part of the collection that I am presenting, and that I named “Phoenix” because it alludes to the rebirth that this moment represents for me. I found this space beautiful to resume my path. Thank you
