Here, Alice does not just represent herself, but also the ' existential void' that we as human beings often feel- a sense of emptiness and confusion about our place in this universe.
This scene in the movie also effectively displays Alice and all the characters being stuck in a time loop where things keep repeating themselves. Hence this piece is also about Einstein's theory of relativity where the past, present and future exist simultaneously; a concept that I cannot necessarily explain well but fully believe in. Hence, can we really believe in the notion of time as linear? On a broader level, what is the meaning of it all?
The rose lends a similar meaning of transience and beauty to the scene. Life is transient and so are moments of beauty and fragility. It's all a series or a loop of recurring events, emotions and experiences till we pass on to the next realm.
