Sébastien Racine was born on June 18, 1981. He grew up not far from Lake Biel. In an artistic environment, he draws assiduously, watching his father paint. He will realize later that this transmitted gift will be the starting point of a lifetime's work.
From 2002 to 2020, it is the experimentation of expressionist figuration.
In 2020, it's abstraction after meeting the painter Roger Birbaum and there are fascinating moments of exchange on art, philosophy, spirituality and in particular the Bauhaus, a movement that is dear to him. Today, a collaboration has been born, and a real friendship has been created over time in his workshop in Biel and beyond.
At the moment, his various poetic works have as trajectories the search for a subtle elegance.
The water element has always been present. Guided by his instinct, punctuated by touches of material that reflect his current state: He poses pictorial enigmas.
We come to the second phase of the process:
by geometric flat areas he removes and at the same time seeks depth. The idea is to keep the essentials, to purify while aiming for harmony.
