Hello, nice to see you :-) I'm Daniel aka Ruuton and I'd like to welcome you. A few years ago I started to work artistically. My professional career taught me the will to quality and craftsmanship, to create something creative and constructive. A passion that led me to choose this art form somewhat neglected in the last decades in my region, the linocut or woodcut. Working intensely with my hands on a piece puts me in a kind of meditative flow that keeps me captivated for hours. The material and the variety of techniques and forms of expression are always inspiring. I love to work on a piece with my favorite utensils for up to several weeks, depending on the subject. Then comes the planning of the final print, the choice of paper and colors. What fascinates me about linocut is that each type of motif develops its own special character during the work. The same principle of relief printing always results in a variety of techniques, whether you print on coarse handmade paper or fine Japanese paper. It always comes in a distinctive way to a special expression until I am satisfied and can share them with others. My specialization: mixed media linoleum and wood print collage. I have always been interested in art and fascinated by creative work. I try different styles and techniques and try new things. This way I can give free rein to my creativity as an artist. Outside my passion for art, I cook with enthusiasm, also eat ;-) love my partner and my dog and when time allows, I enthusiastically cross the waves of the river that characterizes the valley where I live, by canoe.   I love art, art to look at, art to touch, art to do myself, some artists I also like more than others would be the most important: Louise Nevelson Robert Mapplethorpe Paul Klee Jean Cocteau Robert Rauschenberg Rem Koolhaas Georges Seurat J.M.W. Turner Joan Mirō Piet Mondrian Lucien Billy Natalie Goldberg Oswaldo Guayasamin Specialization: linoleum print, collage mixed media, self-taught, burger enthusiast, optimist Qualification outside professional training: Architectural Illustration Narrative Art Relief Engraving & Contemporary Printmaking Graphic Design Calligraphy, Lettering Design Between 2000 and 2005 I attended courses at the Zurich Academy of Art : Art, Production and Handling and at the Trier Academy of Art : Plastic Design Best regards Daniel alias Ruuton
