"Équilibres no.1" est une œuvre cubique abstraite peinte par l'artiste français Rain. Elle est le résultat de travaux de recherche sur les volumes vides et les volumes pleins qui occupent l'espace. Chaque forme pleine se définit par ses traits de volume et la taille qu'elle occupe dans l'espace vide. Lorsque des formes se regroupent, se touchent, elles forment un volume commun - et donc un poids - ce qui confère à l'œil l'illusion de l'équilibre dans l'espace.

Dans le tableau, on retrouve des association de formes aux tailles variées et parfaitement cohérentes avec l'espace : elles constituent une structure en équilibre qui se tient d'elle même. "Équilibres no.1" is an abstract cubic work painted by the French artist Rain. It is the result of research on empty volumes and full volumes that occupy space. Each solid shape is defined by its volume lines and the size it occupies in the empty space. When shapes come together, touch each other, they form a common volume - and therefore a weight - which gives the eye the illusion of balance in space.

In the painting, we find associations of shapes of various sizes and perfectly coherent with the space: they constitute a structure in balance that stands by itself. The harmonies of the lines produce an abstract aesthetic result that satisfies the eye, the irregularities of the line linked to the charm of hand painting make it a deeply human and sincere work of reflection.

Technical characteristics: Long-lasting protective varnish. Dimensions of the canvas without frame (61x50x2.5 cm). Work signed, dated and titled on the front and back of the canvas by the artist. Preserved in France.

Born in France, Rain was first interested in photography before discovering the world of painting. Holder of a master's degree in Political Science, he worked for several years on French national television[...]

During his studies between Ireland and France, he will undertake research on the "Geometry of the Void".

"The void offers infinite possibilities for looking at space. It recomposes it, occupies it, divides it, underlines it, erases it or imposes it. The void is sound, conveys immensity, imposes silence, amplifies presence. Emptiness is sensory, transmits cold and heat, humidity and drought, the strength of natural elements and their symbiosis with the artificial. " Rain, Abstractions.

His research on the urban and natural landscape gives rise to a real attraction in him for rough lines, simple shapes, cubism and abstraction.

During a trip to New York, the style transition will take place, resulting in a series of shots totally detached from a perceptible subject. Forms, sensations, feelings.
Rain will then make abstract sketches with a singular geometric aesthetic, which he will sublimate in unique acrylic works, with this immediately identifiable signature of balance, the arrangement of volumes on the canvas

He regularly produces works in serigraphy (always in a single copy) and paintings where the shapes are painted by hand, which gives a deliberately imperfect style - irony of the concept - where the purity of geometric lines meets the touch of the human being.
