Roger Selden was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 20, 1945. He studied painting with Isaac Soyer at the Brooklyn Museum from 1957 to 1962. He attended the Tyler School of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he received his diploma in 1966. During the summer of 1964 in Paris he studied painting with George Mc Neil and graphics with Antonio Frasconi. In 1966 he arrived in Italy, where he graduated in Rome in Fine Arts. Since 1971 he has been represented internationally by the Galleria Il Naviglio in Milan. In 1999 Selden was commissioned by the German designer Dieter Sieger to make the first large sculpture for " ;Sculpture Garden" at Harkotten Castle, Munster, Germany. Since 1994 Selden has collaborated with Sieger Design producing numerous projects for Ritzenhoff.Roger Selden is a "pop" artist: "If an ordinary object, a part of you in everyday life, is Can abstract be defined as pop?
