This work was inspired by my many swims in the deep seas of Cap Ferrat (Alpes Maritimes / France). I used natural mineral materials such as sand, small gravel or pebbles, a few fragments of volcanic lava from Hawaii and marble powder, all bound together with an acrylic binder gel. The multiple layers of fluid acrylic paints, applied with a spalter, spread naturally between the interstices to merge and form interesting shades of blue. The flat areas of the materials were applied with a large painter's knife. The cracks observed on certain more or less thick zones give the illusion of the mineral that can be observed under the surface of the water. I hope in this way to convey the emotions I experienced while swimming under the Cap Ferrat lighthouse, hence the title of the work.

Robert CADIERE, artiste peintre autoodidacte, est né le 24 septembre 1951 à Toulon, dans le VAR (France).
Très masculines et très géométriques, ses peintures s’imposent et marquent une maîtrise du geste et une volonté graphique pointue.
En 1975, sa rencontre avec Eugène Baboulène, peintre emblématique provençal, le transforme et lui ouvre les portes de la peinture.
En 2008, une promenade dans le quartier très urbanisé de la Défense, à Paris, le chamboule.
L’industriel et l’urbain, la perspective des immeubles et l’alignement de leurs façades de verre, tout ceci fait écho en lui.
Il s’approprie tous ces éléments. Il aime la matière et créer une trame sur la trame même de la toile à l’aide d’enduits et de divers papiers qu’il colle et superpose.
New York qu’il visite en 2015 et 2018, reflète une ambiance qui oscille entre l’ancien et le neuf, l’industriel et l’urbain. Sa série NYC est riche en couleurs, moderne et poétiquement urbaine.
Fin 2018, il quitte Toulon pour s’installer à Nice, dans les Alpes Maritimes.
Aujourd’hui, sa technique est mixte, la matière s’intensifie et s’épaissie, la palette de couleurs se réduit jusqu’à parfois devenir monochrome, ses sujets se simplifient peu à peu et laissent la place à l’interprétation.
C’est là l’objet de son travail actuel qu’il continue de faire évoluer vers l’abstraction.
