Renata was pupil of the sculptor Cristiano Ariel Teixeira, in the time of the Lages Park, in Rio De Janeiro in 1986. The beginning of everything is always the feminine body. She is the artist who in the account: "It is perhaps what it stimulates... for my feminine condition. To place in the clay the figure of the woman... of the adobe we came... ". In 87 Renata received medal from silver in XXIII the Feminine Hall of the Brazilian society of Beautiful Arts, Rio De Janeiro - Prize Zélia Moreaux. Inhabitant in Piratininga in Niterói, Rio De Janeiro, has as landscape the lagoon and the rock of the Topsail. There the inspiration arises, involved for the mother-nature. "Land is everything... is begins it... the oceanic region is very rich in this type of material for my works. Adobe the clay if transforms... the creation if it gives in the clay... the part goes for the special oven, passing for a baking - it turns land quota there - (cozida) or I leave to the natural one, giving a finishing... ". Renata Comments. In 1990 it was bronze medal in the World-wide Exposition of Filatelia and Visual Artes, RIO DE JANEIRO. Its sculptures are marcantes for its inquietude, are put into motion, expressed emotion. "With the raw adobe, already I made an exposition in the CCPCM - Cultural Center Pascoal Great Carlos, in Niterói, the year of 1986, on the subject: "Back of woman". They were parts in raw adobe, with finishing to be displayed in all form of creation ". - Renata comments. A convention of that exists how much less casting, more serious becomes it workmanship of the artist. The value in all the directions is more commercial. The sculptor explains: "the old artists, since 1800, ordered to cast only three parts. Today he turns around 5 the 8 parts. The artist numbers each part, and its value is identical, when all they are signed by it ". Although everything, the market is not favoring. To put has space for that they present quality. The art always goes to have value when the proposal is to create a serious work. As of Renata the Hunter of Barros, gold medal in 1º Hall of Plastic Arts of the Naval club of Rio De Janeiro, with sponsorship of the Brazilian Academy of Beautiful Arts, and promoted for the Brazilian Center of Cooperation and Interchange of Social Services. Renata é arte em forma de mulher
“O universo tem começo no chão onde se habita”. Com esta frase, de autoria de algum poeta, saí do atelier da Renata. Após um longo papo informal (tive a sensação e vê-la modelando suas mulheres de barro...), a escultora falava-me do seu trabalho com muita ternura e entusiasmo.
“Faço escultura desde 1984. Aí aconteceram as primeiras vendas em circuito comercial. Novas produções, sempre trabalhando as formas femininas...”.
Renata foi aluna do escultor Cristiano Ariel Teixeira, no tempo do Parque Lages, no Rio de Janeiro em 1986.
O inicio de tudo é sempre o corpo feminino. É a artista que nos conta: “É o que estimula... talvez pela minha condição feminina. Colocar na argila a figura da mulher... do barro viemos...”.
Em 87 Renata recebeu medalha de prata no XXIII Salão Feminino da sociedade Brasileira de Belas Artes, Rio de Janeiro – Prêmio Zélia Moreaux.
Moradora em Piratininga em Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, tem como paisagem a lagoa e a pedra da Gávea. Aí a inspiração aflora, envolvida pela mãe-natureza. “Terra é tudo... é o principio... a região oceânica é muito rica neste tipo de material para meus trabalhos. Barro o argila se transformam... a criação se dá na argila... a peça vai para o forno especial, passando por um cozimento – aí vira terra cota – (cozida) ou deixo ao natural, dando um acabamento...”. Comenta Renata.
Em 1990 foi medalha de bronze na Exposição Mundial de Filatelia e Artes Visuais, RJ.
Suas esculturas são marcantes por sua inquietude, movimentam-se, expressam emoção.
“Com o barro cru, já fiz uma exposição no CCPCM – Centro Cultural Pascoal Carlos Magno, em Niterói, no ano de 1986, sobre o tema: “Dorso de mulher”. Eram peças em barro cru, com acabamento para serem expostas em toda forma de criação”. – comenta Renata.
Existe uma convenção de que quanto menos peça fundida, mais séria torna-se a obra do artista. O valor em todos os sentidos é mais comercial. A escultora explica: “Os antigos artistas, desde 1800, mandavam fundir apenas três peças. Hoje gira em torno de 5 a 8 peças. O artista numera cada peça, e o seu valor é idêntico, quando todas elas estão assinadas por ele”.
Apesar de tudo, o mercado não está favorecendo. Porem há espaço para os que apresentam qualidade. A arte vai sempre ter valor quando a proposta é criar um trabalho sério. Como o de Renata Monteiro de Barros, medalha de ouro no 1º Salão de Artes Plásticas do Clube Naval do Rio de Janeiro, com patrocínio da Academia Brasileira de Belas Artes, e promovido pelo Centro Brasileiro de Cooperação e Intercâmbio de Serviços Sociais.
A sós com suas diversas formas de mulher, observamos um mundo de sensualidade, intensamente pulsando por todo o seu atelier, como se ali vivessem todas as mulheres do mundo.
