Né en 1987, Raymond Yves Kono vit et travaille à Yaoundé au Cameroun. Dès l’age de 7 ans, il s'intéresse au dessin, reproduit des images qu’il voit à la télévision ou dans des bandes dessinées.
Dès 2010, il suit des cours à l'université de Yaounde 1, et commence à se familiariser avec les notions d’arts plastiques, arts visuels, arts contemporains et parallèlement poursuit une formation en sérigraphie. Grâce à son esprit curieux et son dynamisme, il commence à côtoyer des artistes et à rechercher des ateliers dans le domaine des arts.
A partir de 2017, il présente ses peintures dans de nombreuses expositions collectives nationales et internationales. Depuis peu, Yves explore d’autres médias, notamment la vidéo d’art, l’installation, la bande dessinée. Attiré par ''la Figuration libre'', il présente des travaux qui sont aux antipodes de l'attente du public à travers ses personnages mi-Homme mi-squelette avec des têtes renversées, qu’il appelle ’’Ntshi-Ntshim’’ (en langue Eton, signifiant Esprit).
En 2019, il est sélectionné pour représenter le Cameroun a la Biennale Internationale des Arts Naïfs à Abidjan (BINA 2020).
