Randy Blanchard
My name is Randy Blanchard, I was born in Clinton, Indiana, and raised in Draffensville, Kentucky. I recieved a B.F.A degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1987. I also studied art at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, and at Murray State University in Kentucky. I studied art in Florence, Italy, and taught art in Poland.
Poland is where my new style evolved. They are done in charcoal, on paper.
The style is very surrealistic. I went out to a lake in Poland and took black and white photos of the embankment and other areas around the lake. I developed the negatives and made 8" X 10" photos and used them as a basic sketch for the drawings to evolve from.
Many people I have spoken to say that they find my work is full of sexual energy. I think this type of art is also psychological because it reminds me of the Rorschach Ink Blot Tests. I can learn about people from listening to what they see in the drawings.
My work is in many private collections, listed below are several
collectors
Barbara Blanchard, in Kentucky
Pat Hardy, in Illinois
Charlotte Hardin, in North Carolina
George Pavelonis, in Iowa
Karen Redden, in Kentucky
Ed Bents, in Iowa

Best told in this poem I wrote:
Still growing, ever changing,
as shadows with the passing of time -
continuing to cultivate the ability to perceive
and express that perception in different ways.
I give praise to the LORD who has been there
in the Beginning and will be there in the End.
