Biography
The paintbrush artist Pu Wei is a native of Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. Pu Wei developed strong passion for painting since her early childhood. Pu Wei specializes in traditional Chinese brush painting and has developed her unique style of brush painting called “Contemporary Chinese painting - Color of Surupa series,” an innovative method of expression and the spirit of Chinese brush painting techniques. Pu Wei is well-known as an “innovative color of Surupa painting” artist in China. She was reported in Chinese influential art webs, magazines and newspapers, TVs, CNC world news, participated in international art exhibitions in New York, London, Paris, Strasbourg, Miami, Italy, Spain etc.
Contemporary Chinese painting - Color of Surupa series are full of colors, lights and shadows, artistic conceptions and prospects, using Chinese ink and brushes, water, rice paper and natural pigments.
Pu Wei creatively depicted Chinese traditional culture art beauty through the vehicle of expressive brushstrokes, a new method that has greatly appealed the audience. This ”Angel Heart“ is a life light body full of energy drawn with Chinese fine brushwork skills
"Angel Heart" uses the traditional Chinese painting technique of fine brushwork. The delicate brush strokes are like colored threads in the hands of the embroidered lady running across the thin rice paper, woven into a heart-shaped image with blue fluorescence. The soft tones make People are fascinated; what is even more wonderful is that an angel with wings can be vaguely seen in the heart-shaped figure. The whole body is shrouded in light, sacred and elegant, hazy and dreamy. The angel image in Pu Wei's painting brush is no longer a figurative figure, but a life light body full of energy, the description of spiritual experience tends to be more conceptual and spiritual. Pu Wei uses traditional Chinese painting mediums—pure Chinese painting pigments, ink and wash brushes, and raw rice paper to paint "Angel Heart" with strong colors, strong sense of light, clever ideas and profound connotations.
This work "Angel Heart" won The International Prize BOTTICELLI, February 9, 2019, Borghese Palace, Florence, Italy, and was published in the Art International Contemporary Magazine directed by Salvatore Russo, January / February issue, Art Now.

2018, Dec. 13-16, Pu Wei participated in the Paris Salon des beaux arts, France, artwork "Golden Land" was exhibited in the Carrousel of the Louvre Museum. The color of "Golden land" is very bold. The whole painting is golden, layered, and has a broad vision. With only one golden tone, it shows that the mountains are layered from far to near and gradually, with clear structure, bright colors, fast rhythm, natural and smooth color change, pure and transparent, and a very good grasp of light and color. In particular, the Chinese rice paper painting, which is difficult to control the color and ink content and concentration, requires precise strokes, fast response, and considerable technical difficulties. The color of surupa painting is a new form of expression that artist Pu Wei seeks a breakthrough after long-term painting practice. She combines the freehand spirit of eastern painting with the realistic light and color of Western painting, and integrates various techniques to make the picture full of light, shadow, color and charm.
