Le pagne tapa sur l’œuvre vient du grand Peuple KROU de Côte d’Ivoire précisément chez le peuple bété qui porte ce pagne traditionnel. Le nom tapa est du au fait que ce tissu d'écorce d'arbre s'obtient après plusieurs tapes ( En Océanie, on l'appelle aussi tapa.).
