"Alone in New Jersey, My Technicolor Dream" est inspiré par mes souvenirs du Skyline Manhattan vue de depuis l'autre côté de la rivière dans le New Jersey. Comme dans un rêve en couleurs, le temps et l'espace sont indéterminés, les espaces intérieur et extérieur sont simultanés. La contemplation de cette oeuvre ouvre à des interprétations et sensations toujours renouvelées.

Belgian artist and physicist. His innate passion for drawing was enriched at the age of 12 thanks to the lessons of the Belgian sculptor Daumerie. At the same age, his passion for science was born from reading a book about the death and life of the stars. This artistic and scientific duality characterizes him in the same search for knowledge of the world and of the human. At 18, he presented a thesis on lasers. After studying at the University of Namur, he embarked on an international career as a physicist while continuing to draw. Back in Belgium after a long stay in Göttingen (Germany), he was introduced to acrylic painting at the age of 32 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Namur.
Settled in Dijon since 2001, he works there as a university professor and regularly stays in the USA in the state of New York while continuing to paint first in an interrupted way and then continuously since 2020. The characters encountered during his travels inspired part of his figurative work. Expressions of the human soul, tranquility, meditation, solitude, are transcribed in works where the human is in an abstract and colorful universe which removes him from the world. The totally abstract works are organic or geometric and seek to translate through color what language cannot. Expression through color is at the heart of his work, in search of a universal language like the equations of physics.
