Depuis l'enfance les animaux ont toujours été une source d'enchantement.C'est tout naturellement, après avoir suivi une formation à différentes techniques de l'art céramique,et pratiqué le modelage de l'argile pendant plusieurs années, que j'ai décidé d'en faire mon métier,il y a plus de vingt ans.C'est à partir d'un travail minutieux d'observation anatomique et de recherches que j'essaie de donner vie à mes animaux de terre.La sculpture céramique offre de nombreuses possibilités,et j'ai choisi la cuisson "raku",(en japonais le raku est synonyme de bonheur et de plénitude), par son côté magique et aléatoire quant au résultat final, et la richesse des émaux et des effets de matière qu'elle permet.C'est seulement après avoir avoir plongé la pièce incandescente à 1000° dans un bain de sciure que l'on peut découvrir le résultat!
J'ai récemment agrandi mes sujets d'inspiration en modelant des visages et des bustes féminins, à l'expression apaisée et sereine, toujours avec la technique du raku, et ses craquelures si typiques.
J'aimerais que mes créations vous interpellent , qu'elles soient une ode à la nature, à l'apaisement,et aux créatures merveilleuses qui nous entourent, et que nous devons protéger.
